Hygrophila polysperma Rosanervig is an undemanding fast growing plant in any kind of water, aquarium and temperatures. They can grow up to 60 cm long and 8 cm wide. It is a hard plant and requires low or medium lighting. But depending upon the intensity of light the colour of its leaves changes from green to pink and even orange. The ph ranges between 5 to 8. Hygrophila polysperma Rosanervig is one of the best background plant for planted tanks. However, frequent pruning is required as its lateral shoots may cause difficulty to other plants.

Hygrophila polysperma Rosanervig can be recommended for beginners. CO2 supply is not at all necessary for this species. It is one of the toughest plant used in aqua scaping. They are also know under the trade names  ‘Sunset’ and ‘Marmor’.
